Cable & Wireless is one of the world's leading global communications companies with a history spanning over 100 years.

They laid the first cross Atlantic communications line from Ireland to Newfoundland in 1866.

Following a recent de-merger, the company now operates as two separate businesses: C&W Worldwide as a provider of communications infrastructure, and C&W Communications focussing on services.

We were appointed to create an inspiring brand film for the launch of the newly formed C&W Communications, working closely with Elmwood, the agency responsible for the company's rebrand.

The new brand identity reflects Cable and Wireless's rich heritage by transforming the familiar globe mark into an ampersand, whilst using a series of lines to emphasise the company's activities, putting cables and connections around the world.

The animated film brought this new brand identity to life, expanding its visual language into a compelling narrative. The story begins with that very first cable laid under the ocean, and projects forward towards its future, taking us on a journey through their rich history and some of the key territories that they operate.

The film proved to be a valuable asset in the new suite of brand collateral, as an accessible touchpoint internally and externally.

Following the brand's modernisation, Cable and Wireless Communications has added value for its shareholders and continues to be a key acquisition target.
