Project Hightlights
Detail
Stories from The Neighbourhood is a short film we created as a self promotion piece in 2008 as part of ‘Neighbourhood Play’.
The Neighbourhood was 18 months old and we were about to launch a brand new website that really communicated the essence of our work and our studio. So, ‘Stories’ was born out of the aspiration to create a signature piece that communicated our own vibe, some influences and a sense of playfulness.
The idea is centred around taking a journey into the magical world of a popup book where we discover mysterious tiki huts, hula dancers, walking clouds, sky pirates, an underwater atlantis and a giant robot all lovingly animated in a lo-fi, playful and tactile way.
We packaged the DVD in a custom hand crafted popup cardboard sleeve that perfectly complemented the animation.
Take a look at the behind the scenes movie for an insight into some of the processes and influences of the project.
We’ve also produced a 3D stereoscopic version which we’d encourage you to enjoy when you’re next in our neighbourhood!
