This is our type of Christmas - When creativity supports charity

Every Christmas, a resident organisation of 24 Lever Street is selected to show their creativity in support of a charity.

This year, it’s our turn. So we’re taking the art of truly creative gift giving to new heights. Our roof, in fact, where we’ve erected an 18m-tall billboard to proudly display Manchester’s best Christmas gift ideas. That’s right. We’ve asked the people of Manchester - and beyond - to suggest their craziest, most extravagant gift ideas.

We’ve also collaborated with some of our city’s best artists, such as Stanley Chow and Kim Thompson, who are bringing each chosen suggestion to life in their own unique way.

If you’re not in the area, you can keep an eye on the billboard - and the accompanying artwork - on http://typeofxmas.com/, or over on our dedicated Instagram feed.

But we’re not just doing all this to build community spirit. We’re also raising awareness (and money) for the Wood Street Mission Christmas appeal - Christmas Should Be About More Than Survival, which is aiming to distribute toys and food to over 2,000 struggling families this Christmas.

In fact, we’ve got 24 gifts of our own sat beneath our office tree, ready to donate to the appeal.

Fancy seeing your gift idea displayed loud and proud on our rooftop? Get your festive thinking cap on and submit your most extravagant, heartfelt, surreal, crazy suggestions at http://typeofxmas.com/.

Go on. It’s your chance to tell Manchester what you really want for Christmas. All for a good cause.
