The Angel Building is a state of the art office scheme located in Clerkenwell, developed byDerwent London, and designed by award winning architects AHMM.
We created architectural communications throughout the full development cycle of this ambitious regeneration project, including 'verified' CGI images to support the planning application, marketing images to engage potential tenants, and an award winning film to inspire them further.
Our strategy was humanise the sheer scale of the building through a series of vignettes and reveals that work across still imagery and animation. The film was conceived as a dramatic symphony, taking the viewer on a choreographed journey as the building is “switched on" and revealed through a play of light.
Upon completion, Ian McChesney was commissioned to create a site-specific work of art. Taking its name and inspiration from the motto of Lyle's Black Treacle, “Out of the Strong" is a 22m tapering spike of carbon fibre. Our live-action film documents the meticulous (and at times nerve-wracking) process of installation.
